Leaders in Health Innovations Program: Degree and Qualification
Before committing six years to a degree, it makes sense to know exactly what you will hold at the end. This page sets out the formal outcome of the Leaders in Health Innovations program at Sechenov University: the field of study, the qualification awarded and the level of the degree. It also explains what the leadership component adds on top of that formal result.

In other words, the program leads to the same professional qualification as the standard General Medicine route. Students cover the complete curriculum of that specialty, from the theoretical foundations of the human body to clinical diagnosis and treatment.
What the leadership track adds
The difference lies in the extras built around the core degree. Alongside the full General Medicine curriculum, students follow a six-year leadership development program and take additional research disciplines. They are supported by curators and mentors, have access to the university’s research base and laboratories, and can take part in extracurricular events and projects. Teaching happens in small groups, and practical training is extended compared with the regular track.
Why the issuing university matters
The diploma is awarded by Sechenov University, which holds first place in Russia for medical education. In the RAEX subject rankings, the university is ranked first for Medicine and first for Pharmacy. In the QS subject tables it is placed 186th for Medicine. A Sechenov diploma is valued in dozens of countries, which matters to graduates who plan to work internationally. Applicants from Vietnam should keep in mind that practicing medicine in any country follows that country’s own rules for recognizing qualifications, so it is worth checking those requirements early.
Options after graduation
The qualification opens several directions. Graduates can continue into residency to specialize, enter postgraduate study, or pursue scientific projects. Because research training is part of the program from the start, students build experience in conducting studies, defending their findings and preparing publications under the guidance of experienced faculty. That background is useful whichever path a graduate eventually chooses.
